Normally, petroleum is classified depending on the number of carbon atoms present. Kerosene is reported to have between 10 to 14 atoms while methane has only one atom. Paraffin, on the other hand, has 18 to 60 carbons per molecule. For these molecules to be vaporized, different boiling points have to be attained.

During oil extraction when deposits are encountered, it is usually referred to wax or paraffin. However, though paraffin is one of the largest constituents of these deposits, there are other substances which may be present in them. This may include sand, salt crystals, resin, gum, silt, clay, and scale. These deposits can be removed through the chemical process.

Different methods have been used to reduce the clumping process during oil production process. However, some of these methods do not completely get rid of these deposits. Paraffin occurs in different forms and contains other substances which call for an effective method. Careful analyzation of these deposits is required before selecting the removal method.

Scrapping technique is another commonly used method in the mining industry to get rid of these wax deposits. Similar to the mechanical process, these techniques have operational costs that are equivalent. The scrapping method has not been associated with any challenges. This makes it ideal in the mining industry. During oil production, the scrapping systems allow the kerosene cleaning at the same time. This helps lower the production cost thus making it an ideal and highly preferred method in the sector.

Professional removal of these deposits saves storage space. When excessive heavy organics accumulate in transportation vessels and storage tanks, it impacts transport and storage of the oil. Modern techniques have however overcome these challenges by ensuring efficient removal of these deposits. This reduces any chances of paraffin accumulating on storages and transportation vessels thus saving space.

Methods like the use of chemical solvents are known to pose a threat to human life. Some of these solvents are volatile and may evaporate to the air thus becoming a threat to the environment. Also, chemicals are known to cause corrosion. Their use can corrode the flow pipes thus leading to massive losses. Modern paraffin solvents are non-volatile and ensure that they are not only friendly to the system but also to human and the entire environment.

The method comes along with its benefits. The method is quick and ensures that kerosene deposits and wax has been dissolved within a short period. This provides efficient paraffin extraction from wellbores, pipes, storage tanks and processing tools. This improves overall production volumes, increase storage capacities, and peachier crude oil deposits recovery.
