Make sure that the stick and shoulder pads have the correct length and weight respectively that would not hinder your performance.

Coaches are looking for players also that are willing and hast the attitude for learning more that makes teaching them less difficult. Someone who diligently performs every task given without being a slack off or cut corners and also a great teammate. When the coach has something to teach, they listen intently and ask question if they want some things to be clarified.

There may be kids who are naturally gifted with talents and great physical condition so their position with the team may be guaranteed. But some of them start cutting corners or slacking off which will lower their chances of getting in. Avoid being a player like this and continue your training and preparation with passion and intensity.
