Fundraising Ideas For Mutual Funds

By Debra Edwards

Making money for a greater good can be frustrating but to keep your spirits up it is important to remember that there are so many ideas you can generate in order to reach your mutual funds raising goal and ensure smiles all around, and be remembered for have done something positive for the community. This way you are killing two birds with one stone.

Everyone has old books they no longer read or want to hold onto and these can be pooled together, to create a book sale of books covering a range of genre, from adventure to cookery books, and from new releases to valuable, antiquated books of yesteryear. Why not do a spring clean and invite friends and family to do the same.

Have a room or area designated for the collected items, perhaps go to your local supermarket and collect boxes that you can hand out to your friends and family for them to place the items in before they hand them over to you. Make sure people know about your event, invite friends, family, and your community to come by and support your market.

A book and jumble sale are relatively easy to create, as they use things you already have in your house but if you really want to go the extra mile, why not roll up your sleeves, get some friends, and with buckets and ample soap and water, hold a neighborhood car wash. This idea is always welcome as most people are welcome to the idea of an affordable car clean-up. Another opportunity is host a food stall or tea garden on site to raise extra money while neighbors wait for their cars to get cleaned.

No dislikes get physical for a good cause. Get people moving their legs and bodies with a fun run (color run), in which participants are sponsored for the distance traveled. Opt for getting the help of a local gym as this will generate more support and participants.

Dog walking is a good way for people to have fun, encourage participants to bring their dogs along for a fee. Maybe throw some fun into the mix by having a theme and a best-dressed dog competition, or if you love it an agility dog challenge.

Animal lovers and pet lovers may be keen to have their furry friends partake in a show. A pet show is a great fundraiser. Have your community members enter their pets for a fee and each participant can showcase their pet and maybe a talent.

You can ask stores to support your charity drive and place the tin near to their check-out counter or even get friends and family to take along a tin to either school or work. Raising money for charity purpose should be a fun experience and one which brings everyone together to create memories which will last long after the cheque has been handed over to your chosen charity.
