The Process Of Community Development Somalia

By Kevin Brooks

It is good to follow the right procedure when undertaking any form of a scheme. Ensure you are aware of all the zoning ordinances of a region, the legal framework and authorities governing an area. Also, clear with all departments as these will reduce the potential barriers to ongoing and proposed projects. Keenly follow the following process of Community Development Somalia.

Know and listen to the members. Whether you want to be among the members, know their issues or articulate the available concerns, familiarizing with issues is not optional. Look keenly to know the available resources, how the decision making procedure is handled and the responsible personnel. The reason for doing so is to know what affects a region and trying to help establish progress in the long run.

Meet people and share visions. Have a meeting involving stakeholders and all actors of the specific project. It is an essential step involving gathering data for use in finalizing during the decision-making process. Involving the heads of organizations established will be helpful in trickling the information to the grassroots. This speeds up the process and a way forward is known on the extent to which the initiative affects members.

Assessment of available features and assets. It involves looking around and identification of all assets within the neighborhood. The selected team can establish the existence of these assets and resources through the use of integrated approaches and assessment processes. It will essentially help collect data for use in decision making. There are some challenges involved such as knowing whether time and finances to facilitate the initiative are enough.

Bring change and driving force. The chief aim of such initiatives is to develop an area and benefit users positively. The economic and social gain is what will make members embrace the project and submit proposals that will be put forward. Steps involved including meeting up with local leaders, discussing critical issues and problems of the residents and coming up with a way forward. The heads will assist in raising the concerns for articulation.

Develop and implement an action plan. The role is catered for with involvement of selected steering committee. Depending on the complexity of a project and the sample size of committee members selected, it is possible to define and set shared goals and objectives. Plans to set up ways of raising resources in terms of human, financial and capacity building is possible at this level. Time frame and targets are set at this level.

Oversight and evaluating actions. This is more of a supervisory role and it is normally a mandate of the selected committee. You realize that all the phases at this stage are almost done and the remaining role is to ascertain whether there are any controversies with the law of the land. Note that the impacts of developments should be of positive impact and bring positive change to members.

Reflection and regrouping. It is the last stage that brings relief to stakeholders. Allowing these professionals to take commercial breaks will prove helpful in implementing the project process. It is also wise ensuring that communication procedures are consistent to address potential issues after reviewing by lead agencies. Before adjourning the session, evaluate the effectiveness of frameworks consulted and guiding principles agreed upon.
