Picking Rental Carnival Rides That Will Complement Your Fund Raising Activities

By Robert Patterson

When you have been elected chairman of the annual fundraiser for your child's school, you have to think of something that adults will spend money on and kids will have fun doing. Fall carnivals can be great for raising lots of money. You can give committee parents the responsibilities of getting the food and games while you concentrate on picking the right rental carnival rides to maximize the fun and the profits.

The ride that seems to be the favorite of all the kids right now is not even an official ride. It's called the Spider Zone, and it is actually a huge inflatable slide with a multi-level climbing structure attached. Children climb through seven levels, all mesh enclosed, to reach the top of the slide. A number of kids can play on the Spider at one time making it a good option for events with a crowd of children.

The Dragonfly is another favorite of the older elementary school kids. Everyone who has attended a state fair has seen this ride. There is enough room for thirty riders in individual seats. As it gets going, the seats start to pull away from the center of the Dragonfly. At its top speed the arms are sticking straight out.

The Six Spin has some similarities with the Dragonfly, but it will not hold as many riders. It requires much less space than the Dragonfly. There are six seats with one rider each. Every rider has controls. When the Spin speeds up, the operator gives it a thirty degree tilt. The riders make the ride go backwards, up, and down by pushing the control bars back and forth.

Turbo Tubs are great for little riders because there is room in the tubs for parents. As the ride spins riders have the option of spinning their own tubs or locking them in place. The spinning action is sometimes too much for little kids. It's the option to spin or not that makes it a perfect ride for the littlest children.

Kids love Meltdown, which is an action game not a ride. Each game involve eight players who stand on podiums. There are two spinning arms that try to knock players off balance. To stay on their podiums, players either have to jump or duck. It takes stamina, quick reflexes, and agility to win. Little kids won't be able to play. A game can go on for some time if the players are good.

It would not be a fall carnival without the mechanical bull. This is a ride that adults love as much as kids. You need to make sure the bull you rent is adjustable according to the age and size of the rider. The bull should only gain speed and buck hard with the biggest kids.

A fall carnival, well planned, will be a big hit with everyone who attends. As long as there is plenty of food, challenging games, and fun rides, the profits will be impressive. More importantly, everyone will have enjoyed themselves, and the school will benefit.
